This Privacy Policy explains how Dragoman collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Dragoman mobile application, website, content, notifications, subscription features, and related services.
This Privacy Policy is part of Dragoman's legal terms. By creating an account, starting a free trial, purchasing a subscription, accessing the app, or using the Service, you acknowledge Dragoman's collection and use of information as described here.

Dragoman LLC, a Missouri limited liability company, operates the Dragoman mobile app, website, notifications, account features, subscriptions, support, and related services covered by this Privacy Policy.
Dragoman is designed for adults age 18 and older and provides Spanish learning through short, context-aware learning moments.
We receive information directly from you when you create or manage an account, choose learning settings, save learning activity, contact support, or start a purchase.
We receive app and device information when the app performs requested functions, and we receive limited account, security, subscription, and diagnostic information from Apple and the service providers described below.
Account information may include your name, e-mail address, account identifier, authentication status, account settings, and the versions and times of your acceptance of Dragoman's Terms and Privacy Policy. Dragoman does not store a readable copy of your password.
Synchronized learning data may include Favorites, recent My Log occurrences, completed-session markers, flashcard progress, My Stats learning activity, onboarding status, selected language, entry-length preference, difficulty, and Colloquial Mode preference.
My Dragoman and My Passport also synchronize your chosen destination text, optional trip date, point goal, current and completed journeys, daily reward totals, qualifying place categories, permanent card locks, passport stamps, and the learning cards associated with those stamps. If you turn on Count my steps, daily step totals are included in account synchronization. These features do not synchronize a walking route, the coordinates used to check a visit, or nearby venue names as part of the rewards record.
My Stats may include focused foreground time on entry pages and quizzes, entries explored, learning days, notification interactions, quiz completions, and the answers you mark right or wrong. These measurements describe activity inside Dragoman; they are not general device-usage monitoring.
Subscription information may include App Store product identifiers, entitlement and trial status, renewal status, expiration date, billing-issue status, and an account-linked subscription identifier. Dragoman does not receive your full payment-card number from Apple.
Security and service records may include an IP address, request time, app or operating-system information, account-security result, and authentication or service logs processed by Dragoman's providers. A Cloudflare security-check token is used for the account request and is not saved by Dragoman.
If privacy-limited crash reporting is enabled, Dragoman may receive a sanitized report containing an error type, stack location, app version, operating-system version, and device model. Dragoman configures these reports to exclude account identity, e-mail address, precise location, learning history, notification or vocabulary content, screenshots, session replay, passwords, authentication tokens, and free-form error messages.
If you contact Dragoman, we receive the information you choose to include in the message. When you use the iPhone share sheet, the content is handed to the app or person you select; Dragoman does not receive your private message or contact list merely because you used Share. That app or recipient handles the shared content under its own practices.
Report a problem opens an optional support request from an entry's flag icon. A report includes the entry, its notification time and identifier if available, and the message you write. Your mail provider supplies your sender name and e-mail address. Technical attachments are off by default for each report. If you choose them, they may include device model, app and operating-system versions, learning and notification settings, motion classifications, and saved notification-selection and scheduling evidence. Exact coordinates and place names are shared only if you separately turn on Include location details for that report. You can review the report and cancel before sending. Support reports are used to answer your request and diagnose reliability problems, not for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Sharing is optional. A My Dragoman share can show your journey progress, learning totals, and destination label. You can hide the destination before sharing. It does not include your trip date, exact location, walking route, or visit history. Avoid entering sensitive information in a destination label you intend to share.
A My Passport share can show a category stamp and five Spanish cards with their English translations. It does not include your account identifier, exact location, or the names of places you visited. The category and learning content themselves will be visible to recipients.
When a website friend-quiz link is available, its category and five card pairs are encoded in the part of the link after the # symbol. The quiz reads these in the recipient's browser. That part of a link is not normally included in a website request, but messaging apps, link recipients, browser history, or someone copying the full link may receive or retain it. If a quiz link is unavailable, the app can share the five cards as text instead.
The current friend quiz does not require a Dragoman account, ask for an e-mail address, or send quiz answers or results to a Dragoman account. Answers and the score are held in the page while it is open, not saved as account progress. The site host still processes ordinary request information, such as IP address, browser information, and request time, to deliver and protect the page.
Shared links are not private invitations limited to one named person. Anyone who receives the full link can open or forward it. Dragoman cannot recall a copied image, message, or link. Deleting a journey or account does not remove copies held by recipients or invalidate the learning content contained in an existing link. You do not have to share to earn a stamp or complete a journey.
With your permission, Dragoman uses current or recently cached precise location, motion signals, time, weather results, and nearby Apple Maps information to select useful context. This may identify a nearby place or a category such as Restaurant, Driving, HOME, WORK, Weather, Time, or Random.
Precise current location, HOME and WORK coordinates, raw motion readings, saved-area rules, device permission states, active location sessions, and pending notification schedules are not included in Dragoman account synchronization. Saved Places, also called Place Corrections in internal records, can include center coordinates, an adjustable radius, your chosen category, a place name or label, and created or updated times. These rules are stored on the device.
For location-based notifications, Dragoman may temporarily store the estimated location, its accuracy, and the nearby Apple Maps place used for the notification. This lets you view a map explanation or make a Place Correction later. These details stay on the device and are not synchronized to your account; the map image itself is not saved.
Save support details is a separate, optional setting, off by default. Turning it on keeps a limited encrypted history of notification decisions on this device for future troubleshooting. With Notification Maps enabled, that history may include exact location estimates and nearby or saved place names. It uses existing app evidence without extra GPS or nearby-place requests. It is not synchronized to your account or automatically uploaded. Turning it off deletes the support history and stops further recording. Existing map explanations, saved places, and notification functions continue to work. Sending saved support history to Dragoman requires a separate choice to attach it to a report; sending its location details requires the additional Include location details choice. Apple map and weather requests are separate, as explained below.
A synchronized My Log record may contain the context label shown with an entry, which can include a nearby place name, and an internal reference showing that a Place Correction was used. It does not contain the latitude, longitude, radius, or complete Place Correction rule used to determine that context.
Location may be supplied to Apple MapKit or WeatherKit as needed to answer a nearby-place or weather request. Dragoman does not create or store a server-side timeline of your exact movements.
You can use Manual Mode to choose categories without relying on automatic nearby-place selection. Some location-aware features will be unavailable if you deny or limit location permission.
Count my steps is optional and off until you enable it. With Motion & Fitness permission, Dragoman reads this iPhone's available step history only for periods when both Count my steps and the Home switch are ON to calculate journey points. It does not read HealthKit or Apple Watch step totals. The opt-in periods, Home ON/OFF periods used for step eligibility, and temporary step-reading state stay on the phone; daily eligible step totals and resulting rewards may synchronize with your account. Closing the app does not turn Home OFF, so eligible steps may be counted when you return. Home OFF pauses step counting for rewards even if Count my steps remains enabled. Steps taken while Home is OFF are not credited later. Quiet Hours do not pause step counting. Turning either switch off ends eligibility for new steps; readings for earlier eligible periods may still finish updating. Existing totals and points remain. Turning Count my steps off does not disable driving checks.
A temporary visit check used for a daily point boost stays on the device. It is replaced as the place changes, or cleared when Dragoman next runs after it is 24 hours old; only the qualifying category and day are synchronized as reward evidence, not the visit-check coordinates.
We use information to create and secure accounts, authenticate users, provide and personalize learning features, schedule notifications, synchronize eligible learning data, display My Stats, calculate journey points and category boosts, record mastery milestones and passport stamps, create the shares you request, prevent unwanted repeats, provide support, administer subscriptions, comply with legal obligations, and diagnose reliability problems.
We do not use your information to make decisions about employment, credit, housing, insurance, health care, or another similarly significant matter.
Supabase provides account authentication, database hosting, and account-linked learning-data synchronization. Resend delivers transactional account e-mails such as confirmation and password-reset messages.
Cloudflare Turnstile helps protect account requests from automated abuse. Cloudflare may process network, browser, and device signals needed to complete that security check.
Google Sites hosts Dragoman's main website, and Cloudflare may host the friend-quiz pages. Website hosts process information needed to serve and secure pages, such as IP address, browser information, and request time. They may use service-related cookies or similar browser storage under their own policies. The current friend-quiz code does not use advertising trackers, save answers in cookies or browser storage, or send quiz results to an analytics service.
Apple provides app distribution, device permissions, notifications, MapKit, WeatherKit, and App Store billing. RevenueCat, when subscription services are enabled, helps Dragoman verify purchases, entitlements, trials, renewals, and billing status.
Sentry, when production crash reporting is enabled, processes the sanitized diagnostic reports described above. Dragoman does not use a third-party advertising SDK.
Support messages and approved attachments are processed by your chosen mail provider and Dragoman's support-mail provider. If you export a report to another app or person, that recipient receives the information you selected; Dragoman receives it only if you send it to us. Support exports are not automatically sent to Sentry or the learning-data synchronization service.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users or the Service, investigate fraud or abuse, enforce our Terms, respond to legal process, or complete a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale. Any successor remains subject to this Policy for information collected under it unless you receive notice of a change.
Dragoman requires service providers that receive user information to protect it to the same or an equivalent standard described in this Policy and to use it only for the services they provide, subject to applicable law and their governing agreements.
Dragoman does not display third-party advertisements, sell personal information, or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Dragoman does not use precise location for advertising or provide it to data brokers.
Dragoman's account synchronization, subscription verification, bot protection, and privacy-limited diagnostics are used for app functionality, security, and reliability, not to track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.
Account information and synchronized learning data are generally retained while your account is active. My Log occurrences and completed-session markers are normally retained for up to seven days and are also subject to a 500-item limit. Flashcard progress is normally retained for up to 30 days after its applicable activity date.
Favorites remain until you remove them or delete your account. My Stats remains until you use Reset My Stats or delete your account. Clearing My Log does not clear My Stats because the two controls serve different purposes.
Journey reward records and passport stamps remain while your account is active, including after the underlying flashcard practice record expires. Deleting a journey clears its destination and trip date and removes it from your journey list; a minimal deletion and points record remains to prevent rewards from being counted twice. It does not delete your stamps. Reset My Stats does not reset journey rewards or passport stamps. Step opt-in settings stay on the device; previously earned step totals and points remain until you delete your account.
Permanent card-lock and stamp records can retain entry identifiers, language, category, the card text saved when earned, and earned or stamped times. A normal lesson edit or review reminder does not erase that record. Temporary sharing images are released after the share action; copies saved by you, your chosen app, or recipients are outside that cleanup. Account deletion cannot erase forwarded shares or the card content encoded in an existing friend-quiz link.
HOME and WORK coordinates and Place Corrections remain on the device until you replace or remove them, delete the account from that device, clear applicable app data, or uninstall the app. The location details behind map explanations are normally kept for up to seven days and are limited to the 500 most recent eligible notifications. Other temporary location and weather information is replaced as Dragoman checks your surroundings again.
Optional support history is limited to seven days and capped to control storage; older records may be removed sooner. Expired records are removed the next time the app reads or updates the support history. Turning off Save support details removes the saved history on this device, including its local account copy. A temporary report-export file is removed after the mail or share window closes, on account changes, or when the app next starts after an interrupted export. Copies you save, mail drafts, and messages already sent are outside that local cleanup. We keep received support reports while handling the issue and only as long afterward as needed for support, security, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. To request deletion of a received report, email info@dragoman.app; account deletion does not automatically remove a separately sent email from a support mailbox or your mail provider.
Choosing Delete Account in Account permanently deletes the Dragoman authentication account and associated Dragoman cloud data, then removes account-specific local data on that device. Deleting the app alone removes local app data but does not delete cloud account data or cancel an App Store subscription.
Apple, subscription, e-mail, security, support, and diagnostic providers may retain limited transaction, delivery, fraud-prevention, security, support, or legal records under their own retention rules. Dragoman may retain limited records only where required or permitted for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or compliance purposes.
You can turn Dragoman off, change learning settings, use Manual Mode, clear My Log, remove Favorites, reset My Stats, edit or delete Saved Places in Account > My Places, disable HOME or WORK boundaries, hide Notification Maps, and manage permissions in Dragoman or iPhone Settings. Hiding map explanations changes only what is displayed; it does not disable location processing, location-based notifications, or saved areas.
You can use My Dragoman without step counting, turn Count my steps off in Settings > Permissions, or revoke Motion & Fitness permission in iPhone Settings. You can delete your current journey without deleting your passport. Before sharing a journey, you can hide its destination or cancel sharing entirely. Sharing is not required to receive learning rewards.
You can permanently delete your account from the Account screen. App Store subscriptions must be canceled separately in Apple subscription settings, and restoring purchases is available from Account > Subscription when billing is enabled.
Signing out stops Dragoman on that device but does not delete your account or synchronized learning data.
Save support details can be changed in Settings > Permissions or in Report a problem > For future problems. Recording and sending are separate choices. You can report a problem without technical or location details. To withdraw permission for future recording and erase the local support history, turn Save support details off. To withdraw a draft, cancel it in your mail app. For reports already sent to Dragoman, ask info@dragoman.app for deletion, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know or access personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, receive a portable copy, restrict or object to certain processing, or appeal a denied request. Dragoman will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
To make a privacy request, e-mail info@dragoman.app from the address associated with your account and describe the request. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and authority before responding. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authorization and direct verification from the account holder.
Because Dragoman does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no sale or advertising-sharing opt-out required for Dragoman's current practices. If those practices change, this Policy and the available controls will be updated before the change takes effect.
Dragoman uses administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect information, including authenticated account access, row-level database controls, protected local storage for sensitive app data, limited data synchronization, bot protection, and privacy-limited crash reporting.
No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep your password private, use a unique password, protect access to your device, and contact info@dragoman.app promptly if you suspect unauthorized account access.
Dragoman is operated from the United States. Dragoman and its providers may process information in the United States or other locations where they operate, subject to applicable law and appropriate provider safeguards.
Dragoman is not directed to children or minors and does not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to create an account. If you believe a person under 18 has provided information to Dragoman, contact info@dragoman.app so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date and version appear at the top of the Policy.
For material changes, we will provide notice in the app or by e-mail and request renewed acknowledgment or consent when required. Acknowledging this Policy does not turn on optional step counting, support-history recording, or report attachments; those remain separate choices.
Questions, privacy requests, or complaints may be sent to Dragoman LLC at info@dragoman.app or through Dragoman's official website at www.dragoman.app.
